About the product

What does BashCut do?

BashCut is a free, open-source native macOS video editor in public beta. It combines a layered timeline with docked Claude Code, Codex and shell terminals. Every UI operation is also available through the bashcut CLI and MCP server, so agents can inspect footage and perform atomic, visible and undoable cuts, captions, transitions, color grading, audio mixing, voiceover and exports. Projects stay local as plain JSON files beside the footage. BashCut works on macOS 14 or later and installs through Homebrew.
