About the product

What does BattenCalc do?

BattenCalc is a free planner for board and batten and wainscoting walls, built by an independent developer. It runs in the browser with no account, payment or upload, and the dimensions you type stay on the page.

The board and batten calculator takes your wall width, in inches (fractions like 120 1/2 are fine) or millimeters, and the actual width of your battens. A 1×4 is entered as 3.5 inches, not 4. You choose a target gap, a batten count or a gap count. It then works out the exact equal clear spacing, rounds the display to the nearest 1/16 inch while keeping the unrounded value for the math, and lists every batten’s left-edge and centerline mark measured from the left end of the wall.
