Clipping Desk processes Kindle My Clippings.txt files locally in the browser. The free web tool accepts one file at a time, groups exact duplicates, retains original source records and exports complete Markdown, CSV, JSON, Anki TSV or an import report, without signup or uploading clipping text. It also offers a simplified first-book preview. The optional Studio v1.1 offline package costs USD 9 once and adds a ZIP with one Markdown file per book, YAML metadata, position-based highlight/note pairing, location sorting, editable Obsidian/Logseq/Plain text templates and multiple-backup import. Common English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese clipping metadata are supported. It cannot recover missing text or sync with an Amazon account. Notion imports Markdown as pages; YAML is not automatically mapped to database properties. Built with AI assistance, but using the tool requires no AI API or Amazon login.
