What does DamnPDFs do?
DamnPDFs is an independent project by Sourav Bera with 71 tools for PDFs, Office files, images and audio. Core tools need no account and add no watermark. People can compress PDFs or images, edit existing PDF text, place a visible signature, merge and organize pages, or convert Word and PowerPoint files to PDF. Multi-step workflows can pass a result into the next tool. Supported operations run in the browser; native conversions and selected uploads use temporary cloud processing. Optional AI features use the user’s provider key and may incur provider charges. The separately published MIT Codex plugin uses a paired browser tab; it is not an unattended service after that tab closes. Practical guides explain scanned-text limits, font and layout fidelity, file-size targets and transparency. The website code is private; only the plugin is MIT licensed.
