About the product

What does FaviconDL do?

Submitted on behalf of the product operator. FaviconDL retrieves existing favicon and website icon assets from a website URL. It offers a web interface and public image/JSON APIs without an API key, free under fair-use limits. API documentation: https://favicondl.com/documentation.html . Source repository: https://github.com/sweesama/favicondl.com , licensed under MIT. The repository also contains a local stdio MCP server in mcp/server.mjs exposing extract_favicon for supported AI coding clients; see https://github.com/sweesama/favicondl.com/tree/main/mcp . The MCP server runs locally and is not a hosted HTTP endpoint. FaviconDL retrieves available icons rather than generating original artwork. Icon availability and source-site restrictions may affect results.
