What does Jet Browser do?
Jet Browser is an Apache-2.0 browser runtime for agents. Each Docker container owns one WPE WebKit session and accepts ordered JSONL commands or bounded MCP and JavaScript SDK calls. It provides native pointer and keyboard input, DOM and text reads, fresh PNG screenshots, download handling, and reproducible benchmarks. It is infrastructure rather than an agent: it does not include a model loop, hosted control plane, proxy or stealth layer, and it is not Chromium or CDP. It is intended for developers who need a small self-hosted browser process with explicit tool boundaries. Source, releases, setup instructions, and the benchmark method are public. Submitted by a project maintainer for independent editorial review; no favorable wording, rating, reciprocal link, or paid placement is requested.
