About the product

What does OpenFile do?

I made OpenFile because I got tired of uploading my files to unknown websites. It is a free, MIT-licensed app that runs 360+ file tools directly in the browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly. I cover PDF work like merge, split, compress, sign and OCR, plus image conversion for HEIC, WebP and AVIF with local AI background removal, and video and audio work using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. It also handles fonts and archives. Everything works offline and files never leave the user device. The source code is open on GitHub and the project is MIT licensed.
