What does SeedRouter do?
SeedRouter (https://seedrouter.ai) is a hosted AI API. It is not a chat app for end users; it is the plumbing a developer calls from their own product.
Who is it for?
Developers and small product teams that use more than one AI model, for example a chat feature on GPT-6, product images from Nano Banana and short clips from Seedance, and who would rather not manage a vendor account, key and invoice for each one.
What do people use it for?
– Adding chat, reasoning or code generation through the OpenAI SDK (only the base URL and key change).
– Generating or editing images with Google’s Nano Banana models or OpenAI’s GPT Image.
– Turning a prompt or a first frame into a video clip with ByteDance’s Seedance.
– Trying another model family without signing up somewhere new.
How it works
Language models answer on an OpenAI-compatible endpoint; Claude also accepts the Anthropic Messages format. Image and video jobs are tasks: you get a task id, poll it or wait for a webhook, and download the result from a URL.
Pricing
Paid, usage-based. You top up a US-dollar balance by card (from $20) and each request is deducted at the model’s listed price. No subscription or monthly minimum, failed requests are not charged, unused balance does not expire, and new accounts start with $0.10.
Who should use SeedRouter?
Developers and small product teams that build AI features into their own apps are the clearest fit based on how the product is positioned.
